Natural Weathering Process
Corten steel, often referred to as weathering steel or "rusty steel", is specifically designed to form a protective rust layer that eliminates the need for painting or ongoing maintenance.
Your sign will arrive with the rusting process already started. Once installed outdoors, exposure to the elements will continue the natural weathering process, with the finish gradually changing from a light rust to a rich dark brown patina over approximately 6–12 months, depending on local weather conditions. As every environment is different, each sign develops its own unique character.
